1924 – 2016 Obituary Condolences

Joe A. Garcia, 92, of Bloomfield, passed from this life Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, in Bloomfield. He was born to Manuel Garcia and Juanita Lopez-Garcia on Jan. 21, 1924, in Santa Fe. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Joe was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters L.U. 412 for 65 years. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Rose A. Garcia and son Arthur J. Garcia. He is survived by his sons, Deacon Roger Garcia (Patty) and David Garcia (Juanita); grandchildren, Arthur, Angela, Eugene, Rose, Jessica, Manuel, William; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 307 N. Church St. in Bloomfield by Deacon Timo Lujan. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 307 N. Church St. in Bloomfield. Burial will take place at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe. Special thanks to Adahy Gutieriez for her loving care of Joe, she was assisted by Josephina Duran. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Rose of Lima Family Center Building Fund. Harris, John “Greg” was born in Albuquerque, NM on May 12, 1960 and passed away in Phoenix, Arizona September 2, 2016.

Greg is survived by his mother, Jerri Carroll/Harris, father, George F. Harris and step mother BJ Harris, brother Glen Harris and his two children Joe Harris and Jennifer Kalmback, brother Brian Harris and his wife Dawn Harris, sister Lori Harris and husband Jim Smith and their children, Trey, Kristina, Austin, Jessica, and Brandon, and sister Lisa Wade and husband Buster Wade and their children Brody and Garrett.

Greg was a pipefitter and member of the Local Union 412 where they knew him as John.  Greg went to school in Los Lunas where he played football and loved bull riding.  He had many friends and a wonderful stepfamily.  Greg had a big heart and would always help others when he was able.  He loved his family and believed in

God and knew Jesus as our Savior. One of the last things Greg had posted on his Facebook was a sign with:

GOD IS AN UNDERSTANDING GOD, never be afraid to turn back to him when you feel you’ve strayed too far.

Carroll Kimble Lowe, 72, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016. He was born in El Paso, Texas on October 17, 1943.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Mary Nell Lowe and his son, Roy Masatosh Lowe. He is survived by his ex-wife, Shizuka Lowe, who cared for him for the past 10 years, his brother, Kevin David Lowe of Roswell, NM, son, Carroll K Murphy of Silver City, NM and daughter, Corinna C. Lowe of Seattle, WA.

He was an alumni of New Mexico Military Institute, a graduate of New Mexico State University with a degree in Forestry, but most of all he was a 50-year member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local Union 412 out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. As a pipefitter/welder he worked throughout the United States.
Carroll was very much a part of the last of a dying breed as he was a union man through and through. He never drove a foreign car and always looked for the union label. As a journeyman in his trade he took the time to teach his apprentices the values of trade unionism and solidarity. Every year he helped judge the 5th year apprenticeship contest for UA Local 412.
He was also a political activist. He was a delegate to Central New Mexico Central Labor Council and spent many hours phone banking with labor urging fellow union members to vote and vote the right way.

The brother/sisterhood will celebrate his life on October 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the UA Local 412 Union Hall located at 510 San Pedro SE, Albuquerque, NM.

Jerry Sewrook, age 67, died May 20, 2016. Jerry was born July 4, 1948 in Santa Fe, NM to Joan and Vic Sewrook. Jerry grew up in Japan, California, Texas, and Nevada. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with friends and family. His passion was taking care of animals and would often bring home stray dogs found on the side of the road. He moved his family from El Paso, TX to Chaparral, NM in 1981 to have a hobby farm taking care of many types of farm animals: cows, pigs, horses, chickens, etc. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol Sewrook. Son, Vance Sewrook and grandson Chase; Daughter, Joni Milliron, son-in-law Michael Milliron and two grandsons, Jacob and Evan. Sister Bita Sewrook, Brothers Michael Anderson and Patrick Anderson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Vince Sewrook and parents: Joan Anderson and Vic Sewrook. A Committal Service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his name to the Humane Society. Dennis Jack Reynolds

1933 – 2015

SHERMAN – Dennis Jack Reynolds, 81, passed from this life early Friday, December 4, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 7th, at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 8th, in West Hill Cemetery, with family friend Larry Little officiating.

Dennis was born in 1933 in Dallas, TX, the youngest son of Jack and Verona Reynolds. He graduated from Sunset High School in Oak Cliff. He married Avalon Hill in 1952 in Durant, OK, and they made their home in Sherman, TX. Dennis became a master plumber at the age of 18, and opened Reynolds Plumbing in Sherman. Through the years, his career spanned several companies and many large projects throughout Texas and New Mexico. His true passion was always fishing! He was a member of the Texoma Bass Club and won many tournaments through the years.

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bill and James, Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Avalon; his children Danny Reynolds and wife Mary Lou, and Gina Stevens and husband Chris, all of Sherman; brother, Ray Reynolds of Fort Worth; the ‘light of his life’ – his 7 grandchildren: Chris Reynolds, Seth Reynolds, Jason Shields, D.J. Shields, Josh Shields, Casey Reynolds and Rikki Shields; and 9 great-grandchildren: Dakota Shields, Sterling Reynolds, Bricelynn Shields, Micah Blunt, Taylor Blunt, Elijah Blunt, Austin Reynolds, Tristan Johnson and Luke Reynolds; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dennis was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to all of his family. He was supremely loved and will be sorely missed.

A very special, heartfelt thanks to Sandy Curry, caregiver for the last 2 years. There are no words to express our family’s appreciation for the love, care and dedication you have given our parents. You are, and always will be, a part of our family, and another daughter to them.

Dale Hunt (1932 – 2016)

Dale Hunt was born on July 20, 1932, in Madison, S. D., and passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, after battling cancer for several years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rinelda (Randy) Hunt of Flora Vista; sons, Steven Hunt and wife Janet, of Longview, Texas, Doug Hunt and wife Teresa, of Farmington; daughter, Patsy Langlitz and husband Leonard of Albuquerque; and five grandchildren, Brian Hunt, Kyle Hunt, Curtis Hunt, Christopher Langlitz and Shayna Langlitz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. and Erna Hunt; brother, Harlan Hunt; and sister, Ardyce Bookout. Dale graduated from General Beadle High School in Madison in 1950, enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Dale married Rinelda on Feb. 16, 1956, and moved to New Mexico in 1958 to work on the Navajo Dam Project. Following completion of the Navajo Dam, Dale worked in various jobs until he started his own oil field welding company. Dale was a devoted fan of both his children’s and grandchildren’s sports activities, traveling across the Southwest to watch them participate. He was also a huge NASCAR fan. His family and friends will remember him for his quick wit, corny jokes, and “true stories that were hard to make up.”
There was a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington.

Services for Dale Hunt of Flora Vista will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington with interment to follow in Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be his four grandsons, Brian Hunt, Kyle Hunt, Curtis Hunt, Christopher Langlitz and friends Jim Madwell, and Wayne Mangum.
