Obituary for Lennis E. ‘Skip’ Taylor

Lennis Earl ‘Skip’ Taylor passed away May 22, 2020, at his home in Los Alamos surrounded by his wife, Mary, Son Adrian, Daughter Batrice and beloved dog B.

Lennis had a distinguished career as a pipefitter and was still a member of Local Union 412 at the time of his passing. Lennis was born on December 23, 1936 in Allen, Oklahoma.

​Skip will be remembered for his courage, honesty, and kindness. Skip loved camping and was an avid hunter in the New Mexico Mountains. He loved good stories, jokes, and was a passionate reader of his Bible. He was extremely knowledgeable in World and American History. Skip will also be remembered as one of the best football players under Coach Bob Cox of Los Alamos High School with 36 college offers to play football.

​Skip was preceded in death by his parents Rubin Clyde and Flossie Taylor, Sons Jerry Wayne Taylor and Michael Ray Taylor. Grandsons Antonio Vigil and Pablo Vigil. Also, Father and Mother-In-Law Paul C. and Ernestine Olivas, Brothers-in-law Manny Olivas and Peter Olivas.

​Skip is survived by his loving wife Mary of 64 years, Children Adrian Earl Taylor and Batrice Inez (Gerry) Vigil, Brother Jerry (Virginia) Taylor, Brother Clyde Alexander, Grandchildren Arie Lyn Taylor, Jeremy (Rita) Taylor, Robert Taylor and Kristin Louise. Great Grandchildren Aryanna Taylor, Tatyana Vigil, Finn Taylor, and Malcom Chavez. Former daughters-in-law, Andrea Gentry and Theresa Taylor.

Skip is also survived by close Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Tony and Rose Lujan, Niece Bernie (Rick) Quintana, Great Nieces Elysha (Bobby) Bustos and Sasha Quintana, Sister in law Loretta Olivas, close friends Roy White, Corky Thorn and George Brooks as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

​Skip also had a very special loving relationship with his Niece Bernie and Great Granddaughter Tatyana Vigil.

​Services will be held Thursday, May 28th, 2020 at 1:00pm, Los Alamos Crossroads Bible Church located at 97 East Road, Los Alamos.
