David Chavez

 1955 – 2015

David Chavez, the Los Lunas Chile Farmer, went to be with his Boss, Jesus Christ, in the early morning of Wednesday, April 29, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. David was a hardworking man with a passion for farming and ranching. He took great joy in growing his tasty green chile and raising his cattle. David gave all credit to the Lord for his beautiful gardens. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delfino and Viola Torres Chavez. 

David is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 38 years, Teresa Chavez; and his four loving and caring children, Christina Vallejos (Alex), Matthew (Leandra), Greg, and Liz Autry (Kyle); his pride and joy were his grandchildren, Joseph, Charissa, Sophia, Mateo, Uriah, and Baby Kameron.

Phillip ValverdePhillip A. Valverde, Jr., age 37, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on December 15, 1976, and was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM. Phillip’s hobbies included attending classic car shows and showing his 1960 El Camino, playing video games, listening to music and watching movies. He worked for Carrier Commercial Services as an HVAC Service Technician for eight years and was in the industry for 18 years where he made numerous friends.


He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Reynaldo “Cacho” Lucero. Phillip is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 16 years, Goretti Valverde; his precious daughter, Gabriella (Geeg as her daddy called her) Valverde; his loving parents, Linda and Phillip Valverde, Sr.; his sister, Lynette Andrade and husband Luis; his nieces, Raylyn and Elysia Andrade. Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Molly Lucero; paternal grandparents, Fela and Manuel Sena; his mother and father-in-law, Goretti and Ramon Aragon; brothers-in-law, Paul Aragon, Raymond Aragon and wife Raquel; special auntie, Sandra Lucero; and other numerous relatives and friends. Phillip will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched.

ARTHUR HAMMEL Obituary
1920 – 2015

Arthur J. Hammel, Sr., 94 years old, passed away peacefully in El Paso, TX on February 1, 2015. He was born in New Orleans, LA, September 28, 1920. He is a WWII veteran. He is also a member the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and the local American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary and son, Arthur, Jr. He is survived by his son Terry, and his daughters Gayle (Richard) Sandenaw, Debbie (Tom) Sandenaw, Janet Alvarado and Linda Rangel; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Grandchildren Jason Norman, Neal Alvarado, Eric Rangel, Jeffrey Alvarado, Brian Brandon and God-son Dalton Caldwell will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:15 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Central. Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am Fort Bliss National Cemetery with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of El Paso in his name. Brockmeier(March 1, 1926 – September 8, 2014)

Lowell Brockmeier, 88, of Clovis, NM died Monday, September 8, 2014 at Plains Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at St. James Episcopal Church with Father Alan Brockmeier officiating.

Lowell was born March 1, 1926 to Elmer and Marie (Abels) Brockmeier in Forreston, IL. He married Barbara Lang July 26, 1947 in Grand Rapids, MN and they came to Clovis in 1984. He served in the US Army during the Battle of the Bulge from 1944 to 1946. Lowell worked for Heights Heating and Plumbing and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He enjoyed raising racing pigeons and black angus cattle in Fort Sumner, NM. He was a master plumber and gas fitter.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Brockmeier of the home; son, Alan (Suzanne) Brockmeier of Clovis, NM; two daughters, Karen Manley of Clovis, NM and Joann (Brian) Baldwin of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Deedra Brockmeier, Curtis (Halley) Manley, Christopher (Lindsey) Baldwin, and Erin Baldwin; and three great-grandchildren, Emma, Elly, and Evelyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.

Roy RogersAge 65, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014. He was born in Paonia, CO on April 5, 1949, to Albert Clay and Phyllis Norma (Howard) Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother. Roy is survived by 3 sons; 1 daughter; eleven grandchildren; 1 brother; 2 sisters. Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of E-5. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Volunteers Needed!

Local 412 is in need of volunteers for H.E.A.T.S. O.N. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 7:00 a.m. Volunteers will service furnaces, winterize swamp coolers, install smoke alarms and change out batteries.

This is a joint project among UA Local 412, Mechanical Contractors Association-New Mexico, United Way of Central New Mexico and the City of Albuquerque’s Office of Senior Affairs.
